They left a transformative legacy for generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prepare to be inspired as &#8211; in no particular order &#8211; we explore the lives of these extraordinary pioneers, whose invaluable contributions have rewritten history, and whose legacies continue to inspire and empower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Established in 859 CE, Al Quaraouiyine is the oldest existing degree-granting university in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Fihriya&#8217;s vision for education transformed the landscape of the Islamic world. The university became a center for academic excellence.
